Classroom Moments
Pizza Monday is a special tradition at our daycare and takes place on the first Monday of every month. The children always look forward to this fun and meaningful cooking experience.
During this hands-on activity, the children become little chefs and make their own pizzas from scratch. They spread tomato sauce with spoons, sprinkle cheese, and carefully add their favorite toppings like onions, bell peppers, peas, and meat to create their own special designs.
Learning Highlights
Throughout the activity, the children learn about ingredients and the order of steps in cooking. They practice patience, turn-taking, and teamwork while sharing ingredients and space with friends. This experience also encourages independence, creativity, and decision-making as each child chooses their own toppings. Scooping, spreading, and sprinkling help strengthen their fine motor skills as well.
