Classroom Moments

This week, our classroom has been filled with conversations about feelings. We spent time learning about different emotions and how they look, feel, and sound.
Our younger children focused on basic emotions like happy, sad, mad, and sleepy. Our older group explored more complex feelings and talked about safe and healthy ways to release big emotions. We practiced looking at facial expressions to understand how someone might be feeling. The children learned how to notice when a friend likes or does not like something, and what we can do when someone is feeling upset. We also talked about how showing love and kindness is one way we care for others when they are having a hard time.
To wrap up our learning, we enjoyed stories, songs, and games all about emotions. Then the children created their own expressive faces using paper plates, crayons, colorful tissue paper, pom poms, and wiggly eyes. Each child chose two favorite feelings to represent. Many children chose happy, while others explored silly, playful, or sleepy expressions. It was wonderful to see their creativity come to life.
