Classroom Moments

Today we made butter cookies. The children used different shapes of cookie cutters to cut the dough. They rolled the dough flat before cutting out the shapes. After placing the cut shapes onto the baking tray, they collected the leftover dough, matched the pieces together, and repeated the process until all the dough was used.
They had fun using the rollers, pressing with the cutters, and even poking with their fingers. The children shared the tools with each other and took turns while working together.
Learning Highlights
This activity supported fine motor skills, hand strength, shape recognition, problem solving, and early math concepts. It also encouraged cooperation, sharing, and patience.
